Best Order Tracking & WISMO Reduction Software (2026)

Six order tracking and WISMO reduction tools compared on published pricing, review counts and real evidence — AfterShip, Track by Loop, Malomo, Narvar, Shippo and Aissist.io.

The 6 Best Order Tracking and WISMO Reduction Tools in 2026

Order tracking software cuts "where is my order" tickets by preventing the contact, and the best-evidenced result in this category is an 83% drop in WISMO tickets at CurrentBody — from 29% of all support tickets to about 5% (Loop case study, named case study, read 28 August 2026). That residual 5% is the part no tracking page ever prevents, and it is the reason this list has two kinds of tool on it.

By Alex Gomez, Sr. Analyst · Published 28 August 2026 · Last updated 28 August 2026

TL;DR:

  • Best overall coverage: AfterShip — the widest carrier list and by far the deepest independent review base.
  • Best evidence of WISMO reduction: Wonderment, now Track by Loop.
  • Best for retention, not just tracking: Malomo.
  • Best for enterprise retail: Narvar.
  • Best if you need labels and tracking from one API: Shippo.
  • Best for the WISMO tickets tracking software doesn't prevent: Aissist.io.

The buying trap in this category: every vendor quotes a WISMO reduction percentage, almost none of them say what it is a percentage of.

The WISMO funnel: how proactive order tracking software prevents most where-is-my-order contacts and AI resolves the residual tickets, using CurrentBody's 29% to 5% result

How we compared these tools

We scored six tools on five criteria, and a tool had to publish something checkable to be listed at all. The criteria:

  1. Evidence of WISMO reduction — a named customer case study beats a vendor claim on a homepage.
  2. Independent review base — rating and review count, from G2 and the Shopify App Store, read 28 August 2026.
  3. Pricing transparency — a published rate with a stated billing unit, or an honest "quote only."
  4. Carrier and platform coverage — how many carriers, and which store platforms.
  5. Channel breadth — tracking page, email, SMS, and beyond.

What disqualified a tool: no published pricing and no independent reviews. A vendor gets to be private about one, not both.

The bias, up front: this page is published by Aissist.io, which sells an AI agent that resolves support tickets — including WISMO tickets — and which appears in this list. Aissist.io is not ranked first, because it is not order tracking software and does not prevent a single contact. Every vendor here, ours included, gets the same slots and a real cons line. Prices and ratings were read from live pages on 28 August 2026 and are dated in the tables.

The 6 tools at a glance

Four of the six publish a rate you can check; one is quote only; one is a different category entirely. Ratings below combine G2 and the Shopify App Store, both read 28 August 2026.

Who each one is built for

Platform support is the fastest way to shorten this shortlist: Malomo and Track by Loop are Shopify-only, AfterShip and Narvar are not.

1. AfterShip — best for the widest carrier and platform coverage

AfterShip is a multi-carrier shipment tracking and post-purchase notification platform that gives merchants branded tracking pages and proactive delivery updates, installed as an app on the store platform or called through an API.

Pricing: Free tier; Essentials from $29/month and Premium from $59/month, each including 6,000 shipments a year, with $0.08 and $0.12 per extra shipment respectively; Enterprise is custom (AfterShip pricing, vendor-claimed, read 28 August 2026).

Rating: 4.7 from 1,301 reviews on the Shopify App Store and 4.7 from 311 on G2 — the largest independent review base in this comparison by an order of magnitude.

Evidence: AfterShip claims a 65% reduction in WISMO tickets (vendor-claimed). Its Wineshipping case study reports an 80% reduction in WISMO and 10x ROI (named case study).

"AfterShip has allowed us to become more attractive in the market." — Pawel Smolarkiewicz, Chief Experience and Innovation Officer, Wineshipping

Pros: Widest platform support here; deepest review base; a genuinely usable free tier. Cons: AfterShip's own pricing page and its Shopify App Store listing disagree — the listing shows Essentials at $11/month for 100 shipments per month against the site's $29/month for 6,000 a year. Carrier count is quoted as 1,400+ in one place and 1,100+ in another. Get your quota confirmed in writing.

2. Wonderment, now Track by Loop — best evidence of WISMO reduction

Track by Loop, formerly Wonderment, is a proactive order tracking and shipping notification product for Shopify merchants, sold as part of Loop's returns platform and installed as a Shopify app. Loop acquired Wonderment in December 2024, and wonderment.com/pricing now redirects to Loop.

Pricing: Starter $99/month including 2,000 shipments a month, plus 4¢ per extra shipment; Premium $189/month; Plus $449/month (Shopify listing, vendor-claimed, read 28 August 2026).

Rating: 4.2 from 67 reviews on the Shopify App Store. Its G2 entry shows 4.5 from 2 reviews and predates the acquisition — not a usable signal.

Evidence: CurrentBody reports an 83% decrease in WISMO tickets, with tracking enquiries falling from 29% of all support tickets to about 5% (named case study). That is the most specific, most checkable WISMO number published by any vendor in this comparison, because it states the denominator.

"The reduction in these types of tickets has freed up our team's time to work on other projects." — Andrew Showman, Co-founder and CTO, CurrentBody

Pros: Best-evidenced outcome here; strong proactive delay detection; native Klaviyo, Postscript, Attentive and Gorgias integrations. Cons: Shopify only. Highest entry price of the self-serve tools. The rebrand means most third-party comparisons still list it under a name it no longer trades under.

3. Malomo — best for turning tracking into a revenue channel

Malomo is a Shopify-native post-purchase tracking platform whose primary job is converting shipment tracking into a marketing and retention channel, deployed as a Shopify app, a headless JavaScript embed, or an API.

Pricing: Lite $49/month for 1,000 shipments with $0.06 per extra; Starter $189/month for 4,000 shipments with $0.05 per extra; Growth from $400/month. Transactional email sent from Malomo is $0.0045 per message (Malomo pricing, vendor-claimed, read 28 August 2026).

Rating: 5.0 from 6 reviews on the Shopify App Store; 4.0 from 1 review on G2. Both samples are too small to carry weight — a caveat, not a criticism.

Evidence: Malomo claims it will "lighten your WISMO CX load by 50%" and that customers check tracking 4.6 times per order (both vendor-claimed, unattributed). Its Hydrojug case study reports 72% open rates and 42% click-through on transactional email (named case study).

"It just makes sense when you're looking to impress and minimize friction for the customer while also maximizing profit for your brand." — Josh Knopman, VP of Growth and Digital Product, Blueland

Pros: The best tracking-page design tooling in this group; headless option; deep ESP integrations. Cons: Shopify and Shopify Plus only. Thin independent review base. Its own site states carrier coverage as both "75+" and "2,000" on different pages.

4. Narvar — best for enterprise retail

Narvar is an enterprise post-purchase commerce platform covering delivery tracking, notifications and returns for large retail brands, deployed as a sales-led integration across ecommerce and order management systems.

Pricing: Quote only. corp.narvar.com/pricing returns a 404 and every commercial path is a demo request (read 28 August 2026). Quote-only is a legitimate answer at this end of the market; a 404 where the pricing page should be is just untidy.

Rating: 4.3 from 183 reviews on G2. Its Shopify listing rates 4.6 from 18 reviews, but that listing is the returns app rather than Track — not a like-for-like comparison.

Evidence: Narvar claims a 60% decrease in support calls and a 50% decrease in call centre costs (Narvar Notify, vendor-claimed). It states 1,000+ carriers integrated and 1,500+ brands served.

"We really wanted best-in-class, so we looked for a company that provided a really good experience first and foremost." — Bill Quinn, VP of Digital Commerce, Hibbett Sports

Pros: The broadest channel set here, including WhatsApp and Line; tracking and returns in one platform; built for OMS-level complexity. Cons: No published pricing at all. Sales-led evaluation. Overkill for most merchants under enterprise volume.

5. Shippo — best if you want labels and tracking from one API

Shippo is a multi-carrier shipping and label platform whose primary job is rate-shopping and printing discounted labels, with branded tracking pages, notification emails and a tracking API as a secondary layer.

Pricing: Starter $0 for up to 30 labels a month; Pro from $17/month; Premier is quote only. The API is metered: 7¢ per label after the first 30 free each month and 2¢ per track (Shippo pricing and API pricing, vendor-claimed, read 28 August 2026). The Shopify listing quotes Pro at $19/month — another live discrepancy.

Rating: 4.2 from 284 reviews on the Shopify App Store and 4.2 from 77 on G2.

Evidence: No WISMO statistic is published for Shippo's tracking product. Its only ticket-reduction figure — 80% fewer shipping-related support tickets at Gear Exchange — is attributed to Shippo's integrated shipping insurance, not to tracking (named case study).

"Shipping damage used to be a nightmare. Now we're seeing 80% fewer tickets." — Zach Bloom, Operations Manager, Gear Exchange

Pros: Cheapest entry point; real label-rate savings; one vendor for shipping and tracking data. Cons: Branded tracking pages and notification emails are excluded from the free Starter plan. No SMS, WhatsApp or push verified. Shippo competes on label cost, not post-purchase experience — treat its tracking layer as a bonus, not the reason to buy.

6. Aissist.io — best for the WISMO tickets tracking software doesn't prevent

Aissist.io is an agentic AI layer that resolves customer service tickets end to end on the helpdesk a merchant already runs, including the order-status questions that arrive despite a tracking page.

Pricing: $0.09 per interaction, capped at $0.60 per resolution, with the first 1,000 tickets each month free and no platform fee (Aissist.io pricing, vendor-claimed, read 28 August 2026).

Rating: Not directly comparable — Aissist.io sits in the AI support agent category rather than order tracking, so its reviews measure a different product.

Evidence: Aissist.io reports 83% average resolution and 4.8+ CSAT across deployments (vendor-claimed). Its ecommerce benchmark, compiled from 15 deployments and 12 disclosed brands on 24 August 2026, shows Edel Optics at 79% resolution (up from 25%), Wilson at 77% and Casper at 74%.

Pros: Priced per resolution with a hard cap; runs on Gorgias, Zendesk, Intercom and others without replacing them; handles returns, refunds and address changes alongside WISMO. Cons: Prevents no contacts — it resolves them after they arrive, so it is a complement to tracking software, not a substitute. Requires a helpdesk. Its resolution and CSAT figures are self-reported and have not been independently audited.

What does order tracking software cost?

At 5,000 shipments a month, published order tracking software runs roughly $2,600 to $4,700 a year — and the WISMO tickets it fails to prevent cost several times more than that. The arithmetic below is ours, run on each vendor's published rates for a store shipping 60,000 orders a year.

Annual cost of order tracking software at 5,000 shipments a month — AfterShip, Malomo, Track by Loop and Shippo compared against the cost of the WISMO tickets they do not prevent

Now the ticket side. If that store runs 1,000 support tickets a month and 29% are tracking-related — CurrentBody's pre-deployment share — that is 3,480 WISMO tickets a year. At $6–$13 per human-handled ticket (Aissist.io ecommerce benchmark, compiled 24 August 2026), those tickets cost $20,880 to $45,240 a year in agent time.

Cut them by 83%, as CurrentBody did, and roughly 590 a year survive. Resolved by AI at $0.60 each, the residual costs about $354. The software is not the expensive part. The tickets are.

How to choose

Pick on platform fit first, evidence second, price third — the price spread here is a few thousand dollars, and the ticket cost behind it is tens of thousands.

  • If you sell on more than one platform, choose AfterShip, because it is the only tool here with verified support across Shopify, BigCommerce, Magento and Salesforce Commerce Cloud.
  • If you are Shopify-only and want the strongest evidence, choose Track by Loop, because it is the one vendor that published its denominator.
  • If your tracking page is a marketing surface, choose Malomo, because tracking-page design and ESP integration are the product rather than a feature.
  • If you are an enterprise retailer with an OMS, choose Narvar, because it is built for that complexity — and budget for a sales cycle.
  • If label cost is your real problem, choose Shippo, because tracking is a sensible extra there rather than the reason to buy.
  • If WISMO tickets still reach your agents after all that, add an AI layer, because no tracking page prevents every contact and the residual is where the cost sits.
  • If you have under 2,000 shipments a month, start with AfterShip's free tier or Shippo's, because paying $99–$189 a month to prevent a few dozen tickets does not pay back.

What is WISMO, and why does it dominate ecommerce support?

WISMO stands for "where is my order," and it is the single largest ticket type in most ecommerce support queues. At CurrentBody, tracking enquiries accounted for 29% of all support tickets before the company deployed proactive tracking (named case study, read 28 August 2026).

The cause is a gap in information, not a failure of service. A customer who has paid and is waiting has one question, and the answer changes daily. Malomo reports that customers check tracking 4.6 times per order (vendor-claimed); AfterShip and Narvar both publish a "3.2x tracking page views per order" figure, neither citing a source, which is a good reminder to check who is counting.

Order tracking software attacks this in three ways: a branded tracking page that answers the question without a ticket, proactive notifications that reach the customer before they think to ask, and delay alerts that get ahead of the bad news. What none of them do is answer the follow-up — "it says delivered and it isn't here," "can I change the address," "it's been stuck in transit for six days." Those are the residual, and they need a person or an AI agent rather than a status page.

The 5% that still reaches your agents is the expensive part. Aissist.io resolves order-status tickets end to end on the helpdesk you already run — $0.09 per interaction, capped at $0.60 per resolution, first 1,000 tickets free. Get a free demo →

Frequently asked questions

What is the best order tracking software in 2026?

AfterShip has the widest coverage and the deepest independent review base — 4.7 from 1,301 Shopify reviews, read August 2026 — while Track by Loop publishes the strongest evidence, an 83% WISMO reduction at CurrentBody. Best depends on your platform.

How much does order tracking software cost?

Entry pricing runs from free to $99 a month. At 5,000 shipments a month, published plans work out around $2,628 a year for Track by Loop Starter, $2,868 for Malomo Starter and $4,668 for AfterShip Essentials, based on their published rates read August 2026.

How much can order tracking software reduce WISMO tickets?

CurrentBody reported an 83% decrease, with tracking falling from 29% of all tickets to about 5%. AfterShip claims 65% and Narvar claims a 60% decrease in support calls, both vendor-claimed without a stated denominator.

Does Wonderment still exist?

Wonderment is now Track by Loop. Loop acquired Wonderment in December 2024, and wonderment.com/pricing redirects to Loop's site. Most third-party comparison articles still list it under the old name.

Which order tracking tools work outside Shopify?

AfterShip and Narvar are the two here with verified support beyond Shopify — AfterShip across BigCommerce, Magento 2, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, NetSuite, Amazon and eBay; Narvar across 50+ ecommerce and OMS platforms. Malomo and Track by Loop are Shopify-only.

Does Narvar publish its pricing?

No. Narvar's pricing page returns a 404 and every commercial path is a demo request, read August 2026. Quote-only pricing is normal at the enterprise end of this category, but it means budgeting requires a sales conversation.

Can AI replace order tracking software?

No. AI agents resolve WISMO tickets after they arrive; tracking software prevents them from arriving at all. The two address different halves of the problem, and the cheapest contact is still the one that never happens.

What is a WISMO ticket worth?

A human-handled ecommerce ticket costs $6–$13 according to Aissist.io's ecommerce benchmark, compiled 24 August 2026. At 3,480 WISMO tickets a year, that is $20,880 to $45,240 in agent time — more than any tracking tool on this list.

Changelog

  • 28 August 2026 — First published. Verified on this date: all pricing read from vendor pricing pages and Shopify App Store listings; Narvar's pricing page returns 404; Wonderment confirmed rebranded as Track by Loop following Loop's December 2024 acquisition; AfterShip and Shippo each show live price discrepancies between their own site and their Shopify listing, noted in their blocks.
