Ada is joining Dialpad, a company that sells its own AI contact center. Existing Ada contracts and helpdesk integrations carry on for now; the open question is where the roadmap goes next.
TL;DR: The Ada Dialpad merger keeps contracts and integrations "operating as configured," per Dialpad's press release, but Ada's future now sits inside a contact-center vendor, so helpdesk-first teams should pick AI built around their helpdesk.

- Product facts: Ada and Dialpad documentation; vendor pricing pages for Dialpad, Intercom, Zendesk, Salesforce and Aissist.
- Quotes: published statements in the press release, as reported by CMSWire.

What is the Ada Dialpad merger?
Ada and Dialpad announced on November 4, 2026 that they are combining, with the deal expected to close on or about November 12, 2026, according to Dialpad's press release. Dialpad co-founder Craig Walker becomes CEO of the combined company. Ada CEO Mike Murchison becomes Chief AI Officer.
Osler, Ada's legal counsel, describes an all-share transaction valuing Ada at about $600 million. CX Foundation, citing The Globe and Mail, puts it at US$430 million, so the first figure is most likely Canadian dollars. Either way it sits below the $1.2 billion valuation reported for Ada's 2021 Series C, per CMSWire.
The two companies bring different things. The press release says Ada has more than 500 AI agents in production across voice, messaging, email and social, in 130+ languages. Dialpad brings a global voice network and its own speech models, trained on more than 14 billion minutes of conversations analyzed since 2018. The combined company says it serves more than 50,000 businesses.
"AI doesn't just answer customers, it will resolve even their most complex problems." — Craig Walker, Co-founder and CEO, Dialpad, via CMSWire
The stated goal is an "agentic operating system for customer work": communications, customer intelligence and AI agents on one platform. Remember that phrase. It matters most to teams whose platform is somebody else's.
Will Ada keep working with my Zendesk or Salesforce helpdesk?
Yes, for now: the companies say existing integrations "will continue operating as configured," and contracts, pricing, account teams and support channels stay the same, per Dialpad's press release. Nothing has been switched off, and no migration has been announced.
Ada is built as a layer on top of a helpdesk. Its handoff documentation describes integrations with Zendesk and Salesforce that pass the conversation to human agents along with its context. Ada's Zendesk guide covers Messaging, Chat, Support and Ticketing handoffs. For a Zendesk or Salesforce shop, that layer is the whole relationship.
What the announcement does not cover is the roadmap. The press release says more details will come "in the coming months." Until then, nobody outside the two companies knows which integrations get new investment and which get maintained.
"That's the ambition: people and AI working together to do more than the customer thought to ask." — Mike Murchison, CEO, Ada, via CMSWire
A promise about contracts is a promise about today. A roadmap is a promise about next year, and that one hasn't been made yet. If your Ada renewal falls in the next two quarters, you will be negotiating before the roadmap is published, which is a strange time to sign a multi-year anything.
Why does Dialpad's own contact center change the picture?
Dialpad already sells a full contact center, Dialpad Support, listed at $89–$149 per user per month on Dialpad's pricing page (Nov 2026), and its own AI agent product, Dialpad Resolve. Ada joins a company with a destination of its own, not just a channel partner for your helpdesk.
That shapes incentives. Dialpad Resolve is sold through a pool of AI Agent Credits, billable when the AI retrieves information or completes an action, with custom pricing. In October 2025 Dialpad claimed its autonomous agents resolve up to 70% of customer requests from day one, per CMSWire. The press release adds that owning the voice network and models gives the companies "more control over costs and performance." That is a reasonable strategy, and it points toward the Dialpad platform.
"Ada's AI agents don't just answer questions — they automate and resolve complex customer work." — Brian Feinstein, Partner, Bessemer Venture Partners, via CMSWire
To be fair, Dialpad connects to helpdesks too. Its Zendesk marketplace listing offers calling inside Zendesk, automatic ticket creation and an agentic AI integration, though agents need Zendesk Talk Partner Edition. But a telephony integration into Zendesk and an AI agent that works inside Zendesk tickets are different products.
So the question for buyers is simple. If your work lives in Dialpad, this merger is good news: more AI, one vendor. If your work lives in a helpdesk, you now buy AI from a company whose best-integrated helpdesk is its own.
What are the best Ada alternatives for teams staying on their helpdesk?
The best Ada alternative is the one anchored to the system where your tickets, macros and reporting already live. For most teams that is Zendesk, Salesforce, Intercom, Freshdesk, Gorgias or HubSpot, not a phone network.
| Option (pricing read Nov 2026) | Works on | Published AI price | Best fit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Stay on Ada (Dialpad) | Zendesk, Salesforce and other handoffs | Quote only; Ada moved to conversation-based annual pricing, per Bessemer | Teams moving to Dialpad for voice |
| Aissist | Zendesk, Salesforce, Intercom, Freshdesk, Kustomer, Front, Gorgias, HubSpot | $0.20–$0.60 per resolution, by channel | Helpdesk-first SMB and mid-market teams |
| Intercom Fin | Intercom natively; Zendesk, Salesforce and others per fin.ai | From $0.99 per outcome | Intercom shops |
| Zendesk AI agents | Zendesk only | $1.50 per automated resolution committed, $2.00 pay-as-you-go | All-in Zendesk teams |
| Salesforce Agentforce | Salesforce only | $2 per conversation, or Flex Credits | All-in Salesforce teams |

Note that the units differ: a resolution, an outcome and a conversation are not the same event, so compare on your own volume.
We'll declare the bias again: Aissist is our product. Aissist runs inside the helpdesk you already use; on Zendesk it replies to customers directly, writes back tags and ticket fields, and escalates to a human when judgment is needed. Aissist reports an 83% average resolution rate (up to 98% in mature deployments) and 4.8/5.0 CSAT. Its weakness relative to Ada and Dialpad is voice depth: if phone is your main channel, Dialpad's own network is a real advantage.
One example from our customer stories: Game Room Shop runs Aissist on Gorgias and, in its published story, removed the need to hire more support staff. Nothing about its stack had to move.
- If your work lives in Dialpad or you are consolidating voice, then stay with Ada, because the merger was built for you.
- If you are all-in on one helpdesk vendor's suite, then price its native AI agents, because they need no extra integration.
- If you run Zendesk, Salesforce, Intercom, Freshdesk or Gorgias and want vendor-neutral AI with a cost ceiling, then pilot Aissist, because it is priced per resolution and runs inside that helpdesk.
Choose AI anchored to where your work lives
The merger does not break anything for Ada customers today. It changes who decides what gets built next, and that company sells a contact center. Before your next renewal, ask your account team three questions in writing: which helpdesk integrations are on the 2027 roadmap, whether pricing holds past the current term, and what happens to your data if you move. Then run a side-by-side pilot on your own helpdesk and compare resolved tickets, not demos. Frequently asked questions
Is Ada being acquired by Dialpad?
Legally it is a combination, an all-share deal per Ada's counsel Osler, but Dialpad's CEO runs the combined company and Ada's CEO becomes Chief AI Officer.
When does the Ada Dialpad deal close?
Dialpad's press release says the transaction is expected to close on or about November 12, 2026.
Will Ada pricing change after the merger?
Not for current contracts. Dialpad says existing customers keep their contracts and pricing; terms at renewal have not been announced.
Does Ada still integrate with Zendesk and Salesforce?
Yes. Ada documents handoff integrations for both, and the companies say existing integrations continue operating as configured.
Is Dialpad a helpdesk?
No. Dialpad Support is a cloud contact center for calls and messaging; it integrates with helpdesks like Zendesk rather than replacing ticketing.
How do I switch from Ada without changing my helpdesk?
Pick an AI agent that deploys onto your current helpdesk, run it in parallel on a share of traffic, and compare resolutions before your Ada renewal date.
