The best KYC providers for 2026 are easier to compare than vendor lists suggest: Veriff, Sumsub and Socure publish exact per-verification rates, Persona publishes a platform minimum, and Jumio quotes only.
TL;DR — best for:
- Lowest published entry rate with human fallback: Veriff ($0.80 per verification)
- Regulated fintech and crypto needing AML in one published plan: Sumsub ($1.35)
- Configurable workflows and review queues with SLAs: Persona (from $250/month)
- US fintechs that want free monthly credits: Socure ($0.80 per evaluation, $1,000/month credits)
- Enterprise hybrid AI-plus-human review: Jumio (quote only) The biggest buying trap: comparing pass rates and ignoring what happens to the customers who fail.
Methodology & sources
- Prices read from each vendor's own pricing page on 2 Nov 2026, in USD, self-serve tiers unless stated. Where no page lists a price, the vendor's G2 pricing listing or site was checked and the cell says "quote only."
- Criteria: published rate, billing unit and trigger, who reviews undecided checks, review tooling for your team, published turnaround commitment.
- Consumer data: Signicat's The Battle to Onboard 2026, a vendor-sponsored survey run by Sapio Research in August 2026 (4,050 consumers, 450 provider managers, nine European markets).
- Disclosure: this is Aissist's blog. Aissist builds AI agents for customer service and does not sell identity verification, so nobody on this list is a competitor. Our interest is the support queue a failed check creates.

Why does no "best KYC provider" list show prices?
Because every page-one ranking is written by a KYC vendor ranking itself first. iDenfy's list puts iDenfy at #1 of six and shows pricing models but no dollar figures; HyperVerge's list puts HyperVerge at #1 of ten and gives per-check prices for two of them. Both disclose who wrote them, which is fair. Neither is a buyer's comparison.
The prices exist. They are on the vendors' own pages, one tab away from the lists that leave them out.
Prices matter because abandonment has barely moved. Signicat's survey found 60% of European consumers abandoned an online financial application in the past year, down only from 68% in its 2022 study. The same survey found 79% of providers ready for AI-initiated applications, while just 14% of consumers are comfortable letting AI open a product for them.

What do KYC providers actually charge per verification?
Three of five publish an exact per-check rate, one publishes a platform minimum, and one is quote-only. Billing triggers differ more than headline prices, so the trigger column matters as much as the rate.
| Vendor | Published rate (Nov 2026) | Billing unit | Monthly minimum | Retries / incomplete billed? | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Veriff | $0.80 / $1.39 / $1.89 | Per IDV decision | $49 / $99 / $209 | Retries and resubmissions not billed | Pricing |
| Sumsub | $1.35 / $1.85 | Per verification | $149 / $299 | Incomplete applicants not billed; charged for successful verifications | Pricing |
| Socure (Launch) | $0.80 / $0.90 / $1.00 / $1.30 | Per evaluation | None; $1,000/month credits | Not stated | Pricing |
| Persona | From $250/month | Platform plan | 12-month term | Drop-offs from user error not billed | Pricing |
| Jumio | Quote only | — | — | Not published | G2 |
| Veriff adds $0.64 per check for PEP and sanctions screening. Sumsub charges the full rate even if you skip some bundled features. "Quote only" is its own kind of answer. |
How do the five providers compare?
1. Veriff — best for a published entry rate with human fallback. Veriff is an identity verification platform with three self-serve plans from $0.80 per verification. Its Plus and Premium plans add trained specialists who review checks automation can't decide; Veriff reports a 6-second average decision. Pros: exact rates and a cost calculator; retries free. Cons: human review isn't on the $0.80 plan; above 5,000 checks a month pricing goes custom. Skip it if you need KYB and transaction monitoring in one contract.
"We saw a real drop actually in KYC drop-offs after we switched to Veriff…" — Teddy Williams, Compliance Manager, VALR, Veriff customer story
2. Sumsub — best for regulated fintech and crypto. Sumsub is a KYC, KYB and AML platform whose $1.85 Compliance plan bundles AML screening, ongoing monitoring and address verification. It sells a separate case-management workspace and reports a 70% cut in case resolution time. Pros: AML in a published plan; incomplete applicants not billed. Cons: a $149 entry minimum, three times Veriff's; full rate even if features go unused. Skip it if you only need a document check.
"…great customer and processes management tools in the dashboard." — Andrey Borisenkov, CBDO, Advapay, Sumsub
3. Persona — best for configurable workflows and review queues. Persona is an identity platform priced as a plan, starting at $250 a month on a 12-month term. Its case tools include assignment policies and SLAs (one on Essential, unlimited on Growth), and Persona says no human reviewers are involved in its checks. Pros: pay only for successful verifications; deep workflow logic. Cons: no published per-check rate; annual commitment. Skip it if you want month-to-month.
4. Socure — best for US fintechs that want free credits. Socure Launch is a self-serve tier with four pre-built solutions from $0.80 per evaluation and $1,000 in free monthly credits. Pros: passive KYC with document step-up at $1.00; live in about an hour, per Socure. Cons: case management sits in Enterprise, not Launch; billing on failed evaluations isn't stated. Skip it if most users are outside the US.
5. Jumio — best for enterprise hybrid review. Jumio is an identity verification vendor that positions its model as AI plus human review. Pros: human fallback built in; long enterprise record. Cons: no public pricing; no published review turnaround. Skip it if you need to budget before a sales call.
What happens when identity verification fails?
The failed check becomes a support ticket, and no provider here publishes a manual-review turnaround on its pricing page. That is the column every ranking skips, and it's where your cost moves.

- Who decides the maybe. Veriff Plus and Premium and Jumio route undecided checks to vendor reviewers. Persona keeps humans out and hands the decision to your team.
- Whether retries cost money. Veriff bills decisions, not retries; Sumsub and Persona bill successful verifications. Socure doesn't say.
- Where your reviewers work. Persona, Sumsub and Socure Enterprise give your team queues; only Persona exposes SLA settings on its pricing page.
- How long the customer waits. No vendor commits to a manual-review time publicly. Ask for it in writing.
- What the customer hears. Rejections arrive with a reason code the support team must translate into "here's how to resubmit." Uphold's success rate rose from 78% to 87% after switching, per its Veriff case study. At 87%, 2,000 attempts still leave 260 people who didn't pass, each a likely support contact.
That last step is a CX problem, not a compliance one. A support agent, human or AI, that can read verification status can answer it without escalation; our fintech support benchmark and eSIM benchmark cover the queues it lands in.
What does KYC verification cost at 2,000 checks a month?
At 2,000 checks a month, published self-serve rates range from about $600 to $3,780 before add-ons. The plans below are not identical in scope; read them as list-price anchors.
| Plan (Nov 2026) | Rate | Monthly cost at 2,000 |
|---|---|---|
| Socure Launch, DocV | $0.80 less $1,000 credits | $600 |
| Socure Launch, KYC + Fraud + Watchlist | $1.00 less $1,000 credits | $1,000 |
| Veriff Essential | $0.80 | $1,600 |
| Sumsub Basic | $1.35 | $2,700 |
| Veriff Plus (human review) | $1.39 | $2,780 |
| Sumsub Compliance (AML + PoA) | $1.85 | $3,700 |
| Veriff Premium | $1.89 | $3,780 |

How do you choose the right KYC provider?
Pick on billing trigger and failure path first, headline rate second.
- If you're an SMB under 5,000 checks a month, then start with Veriff or Sumsub, because both publish rates and run free trials with 50 live checks.
- If you're regulated and need AML in the same check, then compare Sumsub Compliance against Veriff Plus with AML, because $1.85 vs $2.03 is the like-for-like gap.
- If your team must own every decision, then shortlist Persona, because it exposes case SLAs and keeps vendor reviewers out.
- If your users are mostly US-based, then test Socure Launch, because $1,000 in monthly credits covers the first 1,000+ checks.

The real price of KYC is set by the customers who fail
The rate per check is now public for most of the market, so it stops being the differentiator. What separates providers is what happens to the customers who don't pass — 13% even at Uphold's improved rate: who reviews them, whether retries cost you, how fast they hear back, and whether your support team can explain the outcome. Ask every vendor for its manual-review turnaround in writing, then size your support queue against its pass rate.
